Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

Dr Priya Sen

IPL is a broad band light source that is used to achieve photorejuvenation of the skin. It is effective for:

Freckles

Solar lentigines (Sun spots)

Superficial melasma

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Superficial acne scars

Redness caused by fine blood vessels such as in rosacea

Hair removal in those patients not suitable for laser hair removal

Reducing pore size

IPL can improve skin texture and the treatment results in the face and neck appearing “brighter and lighter with a smooth even tone. The treatment has minimal downtime and patients can resume daily activities and work almost immediately.

To achieve optimal results it is recommended that 4-5 sessions are performed at an interval of 4-6 weeks.

The clinic uses the Ellipse® I2PL system. For better results IPL is best combined with Light Emitting Diode (LED) treatments.
